Quilled Greeting Cards
 Our
high quality, quilled all-occasion greeting cards and
Valentine's Day cards are each packaged in its own white
cardboard mailer. An insert is included with each handmade
card explaining the Enable-USA Second Chance program.
There is a message to the recipient on the inside of the
all occasion cards (the inside of all Christmas cards
are blank). All cards are 4" x 8" in size.
Price for each card is $5.00 plus $2.00 each for

What
is the meaning of "quilled"?
 Quilling is the rolling and shaping of narrow strips of
paper to form coils which are assembled to form three
dimensional designs. Also known as paper filigree, the
craft dates back to the Middle Ages and was practiced
mostly by cloistered religious orders in Europe who had
access to handmade papers.
In the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries,
quilling was popular among "fashionable" ladies
especially in England who crafted items such as tea
caddies, pictures and small pieces of furniture. The
ladies magazines of that period often printed patterns
for paper filigree. A filigree basket is mentioned by
British author Jane Austen in her well-known 1811 novel
“Sense and Sensibility.”
Our card makers use this technique to create the quilled
cards offered through Enable-USA. Each card is handmade
and no two are alike. When you purchase our cards, you
are guaranteed a unique design that you won’t find in an
ordinary card store.
